Singing Bamboo Chinese Resturant Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Somehow my wife found out about this restaurant through the Asian grapevine and I'm happy to report that the food was very good. We mostly stuck to the seafood and we were not disappointed, it tasted very fresh and well prepared. We ordered the squid soup, the fish, and the salty ribs. If you speak Mandarin or Cantonese, they have a "Chinese menu" that you can order from. The interior is well lit and spacious. I also found the men's restroom to be very clean. Being from the Chicago area, we found it difficult to find a good Chinese restaurant in the West Palm area, but we were happy to find this one.

This place is okay for dim sum. No, it's not as great as Shanghai Garden was in Boynton Beach that eventually closed and if you've been to Hong Kong as I have and had dim sum there, no, it's not even close. But it's definitely okay. Great jasmine tea, fairly good shrimp dumplings. Atmosphere is decent. Service is good.

I got takeout food and there was a black bug in my white rice. So gross. Will never go back.

Rude staff, manager is a d@ck, customer is always wrong, don't ever go here, go to fresh element in the village commons plaza instead, it's amazing and healthy!!

If you enjoy real Chinese food and have cravings for dim sum every now and then, this is the place to be. You really can't go wrong here. Everything is pretty solid. I can't say that there's anything special about this place -- I've been to a lot of chinese restaurants that serve the same food with the same quality. But in West Palm Beach area?? That is quite rare so this is definitely a good find! I love the lobster with ginger+scallions, be on the watch for specials, you should always consider those! I've loved every dim sum dish I've had there... I wouldn't go here just to order sesame chicken or kung pao chicken or something lame-as-sh** like that. If you're coming for Chinese food, experience Chinese food. Not Beef Lo Mein - wtf is that. Go to one of those "#1 Wok" places to get shitty chinese food. Not here. I am a repeat customer-- The food is always great and every time I'm back in Florida I will be coming here for my Chinese fix!

Very good pan fried noodles. Beef balls are good also. Service was friendly- with many refills and a few status checks. Looks like a place ill return too in the future. Basic decor- but I'm not here for visual stimulation. Unfortunately a pair of New Yorkers were seated next to me, and I could hear all of their complaints, about everything. Too bad I can't rate them.

Really good food. I always enjoy it. I had the Mongolian Beef last time and it was great. The hot and sour soup isn't your standard Chinese restaurant food; it is a step above the regular restaurant fare.

Awesome authentic hk dim sum! Best Chinese food so far away from California. Reasonable prices and large portions. Unbelievable that they have been open here for 25 years. Lucky we found this from yelp instead of dining at another chinese buffett place near our hotel. MUST EAT here again!!! Highly recommended. 5 stars. Ps when we called to see if they were open, the man replied, "yes, we're just waiting for you." :) that made us think this place might be lousy like no one is eating there. :D anyways it was great Chinese food!

I am a fan of this place. I have been there a few times and I have to say this is one of the best Chinese places in South Florida. I usually go there with my girlfriend and her family (who are from Hong Kong) and usually let them pick some of the more authentic dishes (both for dinner and dim sum). I do have to agree with one of the reviewers that the place tends to be a little warm temperature wise, but it isn't that bad.

I got one of the "heart healthy" dishes with chicken and it was actually pretty tasty. It came with a sauce with garlic and ginger that was surprisingly good. I really don't mean to sound so shocked, but I've tried so much bad Chinese takeout since I got to West Palm that I was over the moon to eat something that tasted fresh and had lots of vegetables in it. I also love that they give you a little tub of hot mustard when you get egg rolls instead of the junk that comes in those little packets. I love being able to coat my egg rolls in that stuff!

One word, HOT! This is America! We have air conditioning so use it. Its a blazing 98 degrees outside and it must have been 82 degrees inside. I can't tell the difference. If its not 76, i'm not comfortable. We came here for my niece's graduation lunch. The food was a bit expensive but if you don't live in a asian populated area, you can't expect to get cheap quality food. We ordered dimsum (even the chicken feet) and dishes i can't really explain. The food was just OK, i can't say its good because its TOO hot to think about anything else. I'd give it another try during the florida winters (if that even exists) and will hopefully change my mind.

Sorry but when I get take out from this place the food is horrible! I used to work at a Chinese restaurant that was the bomb compared to this crap! My chow mein was so oily I didn't even want to look at it anymore. The sweet and sour sauce is to sweet and to watery this place might be great for some people but not for me I'd rather eat at fugi in stuart or man li Chinese restaurant in Hobe sound sorry I will never order from this place again.

I was hesitant to try Singing Bamboo out for 2 whole years. The reviews on here were pretty mixed. I didn't know what to believe. 3 months ago, my brother was craving Dim Sum really bad and I was too lazy to drive to our favorite place in Ft. Lauderdale. We came in on a Sunday afternoon after church, when most typical Dim Sum place would be busy. And sure enough, Singing Bamboo was pack. Don't worry the spacious restaurant sat us in a timely manner. We quickly notice that this establish does not offer the Dim Sum carts like we were used to. However, we didn't mind it at all. We order from this Dim Sum ticket and all the food were prepared to order. This ensures that the food is hot and fresh. Since our first visit, we have been back almost a dozen time. We've brought lots and lots of family and friends. Everyone equally enjoyed the food at this place. Here's a few of our favorite dishes: Soup Dumpling Steam rice cake with curlers steam rice cake with shrimp chicken feet spare ribs with black bean sauce shrimp dumpling beancurd We need to try their Lunch/Dinner menu one day. For now, their Dim Sum is all we've tried and we love it.

Authentic Chinese. Wonderful Dim Sum. 25 years in business says it all. I grew up in NYC right next to Chinatown and have had offices in Hong Kong. I know the differences between bad, good and great. This is a great place to eat!!!! Dim Sum is available ALL day!

Very pleasantly amazed! Will post pics as well if possible! From mixed soup eggdrop and wonton to spare ribs that were very delicious to chicken and garlic sauce with broccoli to house chow fun with unbelievable huge shrimp I know it's an oxymoron but the shrimp were huge!!!! The egg foo young is the best egg foo young on the planet and there is more!!! **There is a separate menu just for dim sum!!!** This place should not be a secret!!! I can keep a secret but it's the peeps I tell!!! I know you'll enjoy Singing bamboo too!! You too will leave singing!! Chow for now!! Added a few NEW photos: yelp.com/biz_photos/sOBR… Hope this works....

Food was great. I loved the wonton soup and the roast pork lo mein. The service was very slow and we had to remind them to bring us our food. They did not bring us our rice, egg rolls, or our ice cream. Decorations were old fashioned, but nice.

I have to say that I have been to many Chinese food restaurants in my day and let's face it finding one in South Florida is one hard task. I know I have been trying for 35 years. Well tonight I have finally found one. We walked in and found a clean restaurant to enjoy dinner. We ordered our food and not only was it hot, it was fresh. The portion sizes were enough to share. The service was outstanding. We will be back.

Had been here a few times for Dim Sum, and they have some real traditional choices, including Fish Ball soup! Decided this year to try them for our annual Xmas Chinese dinner. Singing Bamboo is a throwback restaurant . . . if you're from NY or LA, you'll instantly feel like you've entered one of the restaurants you ate in as a child (Unless it was in Chinatown, which is a totally different experience). Chose SB because it was larger, and our usual stop, Grand Lakes, was just too crowded last Xmas. Made a reservation for 6:30, got there at 6:35, was seated by 6:40, good start. Very nice waitress. Started with Wonton Soup . . . we had 7 in our party, but they did not offer larger bowls, so we got 7 individual bowls . . . Not the best soup I've had down here . . . BBQ Spare Ribs were very good . . . NY Style. Fried Dumplings were OK . . . Egg Rolls were good. For main courses, we ordered Shrimp & Lobster Sauce, we usually order it with no egg, but they could not accommodate . . . I think they pre-make this . . . sad. Wanted to order Wor Shu Opp (Pressed Duck), but they brought out 1/2 a Duck . . . and it was mediocre. Sesame Chicken was good, Beef & Broccoli was good, Lo Mein & Fried rice were just OK. Overall, not a bad meal, nice service . . . a tad on the expensive side for what we had . . . Its an A+ for Dim Sum, but for a regular meal, I'd find someplace else . . .

This is the place to go for authentic Chinese food. Dim sum is fantastic. Me and my wife have been coming here for years. Great food and atmosphere. Definitely try the Ginger Lobster.

I'm a huge dim sum fan (best food concept on the planet). It used to be so-so here, but they've stepped up their game in the last few years. I don't have to drive to Delray anymore, which is a HUGE plus. If you go, try the soup dumplings. They're hard to find and if you do, they're usually the pre-packaged ones. This place makes them like they should be made...a little gingery, but a well-seasoned broth and a tender filling. Siu mai is flavorful, tender, and an even balance of pork and shrimp. The lotus leaf rice is better elsewhere, but definitely good. When I read the other reviews, I was surprised at the 2 star ones since the food here isn't bad, but then I noticed most involved people ordering American-Chinese standards like lo mein and sweet and sour chicken. I leave that stuff alone, so no comment.

Well,Called ahead to check on the lunch specials, only to travel out of my way to have the 'Boss' decide he would not honor the 3 PM special(I was early by 10 minutes). Rather than tell me directly, he tried to seat me and charge me more. The 'waitress' played dumb and said 'He's the boss'. What a wonderful experience for a customer who 'used' to frequent the place. I knew the food quality had been slipping, but this treatment was rude and unnecessary...... Truly a dishonorable business. Avoid.

Some of the best dim sum I had in florida...streamed spare ribs!!

Authentic Chinese food. Peking dick special was just that. Dim sum to order. Other reviews on portion size are not kidding. Not a fancy location, but food and value can't be beat. Highly recommended.

I really adore this place, but recently I haven't gone there because their prices have risen, and with the economy going downhill, I can rarely afford to go there. More truly, perhaps, the reason I don't go there often anymore is because I have found a new great authentic-ish Chinese restaurant closer to where I live, Grand Lake Chinese Restaurant. But let's not get off the path here: Singing Bamboo has the BEST noodles. Lo mein. Shanghai Lo Mein, I believe. Cannot be beat. Other dishes I enjoyed were the Fish Stomach Soup and the duck tongue dim sum. The last few times I've been there (over 7 months ago), it seemed like the taste of the dishes had changed, and some had an odd taste like they hadn't cleaned the backstage knives properly. Their dishes are on the salty side, which I love, and despite the flaws, it is only one of 2 restaurants that has a bit of authenticity in their dishes.

better than average,...costs a little more too

This my sound a little extreme but the baked pork buns here may possibly be the best baked pork buns ever created in all space and time. Serious!

A normal Sunday Dim Sum Destination for my family. The Dim Sum is good, so far the best I have found in the West Palm Area. Highly recommend the Su Mei, fried taro, and stuffed been curd skin.

Singing Bamboo serves extra dim sum on weekends. I went there in a small group of three, and the server was very personable and friendly. The menu has authentic Chinese dishes. The standard dim sum dishes, such as har gow and siu mai are OK. Typically, I prefer har gow to siu mai, but the siu mai here was actually better than the har gow. We also ordered sticky rice in lotus leaf, pan-friend turnip cake, and a vegetable entree. All were freshly prepared, as this restaurant does not use the "cart system" to serve dim sum. Overall, the dim sum is not as good as what you can get in New York, SF, LA or Toronto -- but it is good enough to satisfy my dim sum craving.

I was looking for some chinese resturants in west palm to eat at, ran across this one on yelp and decided to try it out. I was very disapointed from what i found, the servce was quite nice but the food was a let down. I got the beef Lo Mein and it lacked flavor and had an odd after taste which i was not happy with. My wife had the sweet sour chicken and again it had a lack of flavor, and the fried rice was just not good. The portion size is good but the food itself was not, and prices are a little high for what they deliver to your table.

Dim sum in West Palm Beach, Florida not the best in the world; Singing Bamboo certainly gets the job done. Although they do not use cart service, Dim Sum is always available. We ordered an assortment of dumplings and Chinese Broccoli with garlic sauce all of which was very tasty. My favorite was the Chinese Broccoli which was cooked perfectly with a very flavorful sauce. They also have an authentic Chinese Menu which is separate from the Americanized menu, I recommend asking for and possibly ordering from both. One thing I like about this restaurant is the amount of Chinese people that eat there I have seen large families, couples on dates, and groups of friends out for a good meal. I could be way off base but I think this lends a level of credibility that they actually serve authentic food. As usual the service was prompt and attentive. My family will continue to eat at this restaurant to get a quick Dim Sum fix locally.

Visited this place as part of my on-going quest for decent Chinese in PBC. Ordered a vegetable w/tofu dish and seafood chow fun. The thinking being that (1) how hard would it be to screw up a tofu dish, and (2) if they're doing dim sum, then they might be versed in other items familiar to Cantonese cuisine. Sadly, both items were close to inedible. The "Chinese" vegetables = canned water chestnut + bitter carrots + chopped up bok choy; and the tofu was a little on the tart side, which meant that they weren't very fresh. The seafood portion of the chow fun dish contained a minuscule amount of shrimp, some quartered scallops, and a few pieces of squid. The chow fun itself was overcooked and gummy, and the "sauce" was nothing but cornstarch. To be fair, people have recommended the place based on its dim sum, so I'll have to go back to try that. But I'm not exactly looking forward to it.

Best Dim Sum in West Palm Beach! No complaints. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was fresh and served in a timely manner. I also went another time for dinner (not dim sum) and was still very pleased. Not in the best location. Casual dining atmosphere. Overall, would recommend.

I give Singing Bamboo 2 stars as I did not get sick or food poisoning. We ordered sautéed veggies and the were well overcooked and covered in a brown sauce that didn't taste good. Ordered half Chinese Crispy duck and it was slathered in same exact brown sauce as the other dish I ordered on top of slimy veggies. The restaurant looks clean and easy to find. I would have rather eaten at one of the chain Chinese fast food joints at the mall or airport.

Went for an early Mother's Day dim sum brunch. The restaurant was nice and clean. The food was delicious and came out fairly quickly. We ordered the sausage fried rice. It was pretty solid fried rice, not too oily and had a nice mix of veggies, egg and sausage. We also ordered a variety of dim sum and all of it was delicious from the pork shumai, to the stuffed eggplant, the black pepper spare ribs, shrimp dumpling, meat ball and the pan fried chives dumpling. I could of gone without the stuffed crab claw. It just wasn't worth it in my eyes and it was a crab claw with a shrimp batter around it that was deep fried. Overall, a really nice meal.

Holy Cow. Well, I had the garlic chicken ... and then returned to have the Singapore noodles ... Service outstanding ... there's this little lady who makes sure you are never, and I mean never, in need of water. Friendly as hell staff. Prices are very reasonable. Food is outstanding. Kitchen fires out the meals in short order. What's not to like? Certainly not the dim sum, as that was off the chain. A+

I don't care how good the food is, it's taken them over 2 hours to deliver my food. After calling them they said it wasn't ready still. Edit: the vegetarian dinner is not good. Tastes old.

We've been coming to this restaurant for years. My wife is from Shanghai and naturally knows Chinese food. This is as authentic as it can get. Naturally they also have American style Chinese food but we only come for the real Chinese food. We had never been disappointed with either food or service. Dim sum anytime! Tonight we had fresh fish, vegetables (Chinese you cai), dim sum (chicken feet, shrimp rice paste, stuffed bean curd skin in oyster sauce). When our friends and relatives come here from China, we always take them here and they agree=5 stars!

    (5)
  • Carla D.

I've never been to China, so can't comment on authenticity at all, but I thought the flavors were good. A Chinese woman recommended this place to me, and I thought she may know a thing or two about this type of food ;) They have dim sum all day, which made me so happy. Had the steamed pork buns, steamed pork soup dumplings and the BBQ spare ribs. The staff was friendly and the place looked clean. Definitely will be returning to try other dim sum items!

Singing Bamboo is a place we visit as a family regularly. The only thing I can ding them on is the decor, which is pretty much the same as it was 25 years ago. Singing Bamboo provides better than average quality Chinese fare at lower than average prices. If you're jonesing for dim sum, this is your place. They also serve the best moo shu I've had anywhere in town. The staff is competent and friendly and our waiter had the pitch perfect response when my wife mistakenly asked for miso soup and I had to remind her that was a different country. The waiter winked at me with an understanding smile and said, "I get it, we all look alike." The only odd thing that's ever happened there was the last time we visited some Asian lady on the other side of the divider doing the "Me so horn-ney" soliloquy from the movie Full Metal Jacket. My mom and wife were involved in conversation and thankfully didn't hear it but all my 89 year old dad and I could do was look at each other across the table in shocked surprise. Finally my dad asked if I had five dollars and we both busted out laughing. Please keep in mind that was the only time in 25 years anything like that ever happened. We couldn't see who it was so we couldn't tell if it was a staff member or customer, but I have to say she sure did it well. Singing Bamboo is old but clean and consistent. It's kind of like your high school girlfriend in Wisconsin, not great looking but warm and reliable. If you're looking for sit-down Chinese instead of eating out of cardboard container, this is a great choice. And, who knows, if you have $5 burning a hole in your pocket, maybe you'll get lucky and score some number one boom-boom.

Authentic Chinese food. Pretty good dim sum. And nice staff. The only problem is they were very slow on refilling waters. But the food was delicious. A tad bit more overprice for dim sum but I would go back. :)

First time trying it. I was not as pleased with the meal. The shrimp with lobster sauce was extremely soupy and the rice was just terrible. We went in 30 minutes before closing so maybe we just got the short end of the stick. However, the staff was VERY friendly. Because of this, I will try this place again one day and hope for a better outcome with the food.

nice, pretty good, love chinese beer and some lo mein.. husband had the duck and he liked but a HUGE HUGE PORTION.. share the duck if you get.. otherwise it's a little overwhelming on the plate! very pleasant and attentive staff.. will go back again..

This place has always been known for good Chinese food but... OMG. You gotta try the new #sushi menu. The sashimi pizza thing is outta this world. Really. Im not kidding. I'm still thinking about it. And the Skylar roll is full of fresh tuna. Will be back for sure.

It has been a while since we've been here. The restaurant is busy, very clean and the food was delicious. We had the garlic eggplant and chicken chow mein. Both were tasty and fresh. The appetizer was boneless ribs and these were not as good as they used to be. The meat was dry and tough. The hot and sour soup was nice and thick with a wonderful taste. Overall, a great meal.

  • Dewey C.

This is one of the best decorated Chinese restaurants in the area. We came late and tried them out on their Dim Sum and chicken feet, both really excellent considering the lateness of the hour. The waitress was very polite and didn't pull out the vacume cleaner and ask us to lift out legs as has happened so many times at late night Chinese places. (I don't know what it is about that vacume cleaner thing; I've never understood it.) The colors are soft and the lighting is warm. The walls are hung with interesting decorations and they have a lobster tank with whay must be a 6 pounder. They are on my map.

Spectacular food and terrific management. The egg rolls and shrimp rolls were out of this world, and I have eaten extensively in Hong Kong and appreciate subtle flavors. The General's chicken was moist and tasty, and I wish our vacation was lasting longer so we could eat here again. Personal note: there was a billing screwup (my fault) on my carryout order and the owner drove out to Singer Island to bring me a cash refund. This guy wants his customers to be satisfied in every way, and this level of attention to detail should be rewarded by lots of people going to give them a try. Enjoy!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
